By accessing or using HillBougieLife ("the Site," "we," "us," or "our") at hillbougielife.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all of these terms, please do not use the Site. We may update these terms at any time; continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Who We Are

3. User Accounts

You may sign in to the Site using Google OAuth. By doing so, you authorize us to receive your name and email address from Google for the sole purpose of authenticating your account and personalizing your experience.

• • You agree not to use the Site for any unlawful or prohibited purpose.
• • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Newsletter & Communications

By subscribing to our newsletter, you consent to receive periodic emails from HillBougieLife. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by visiting our unsubscribe page. We will never sell or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Shop & Purchases

All purchases made through The HillBougie Shop are processed securely by Stripe. By placing an order, you agree to provide accurate payment and shipping information. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order at our discretion.

• • Digital products are non-refundable once downloaded.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including recipes, blog posts, photographs, brand assets, and copy — is owned by or licensed to HillBougieLife and is protected by copyright law. You may share links to our content and quote brief excerpts with proper attribution, but you may not reproduce, republish, or resell our content without written permission.

7. Community Forum

HillBougieLife operates a community forum ("the Community") where registered members may post threads, replies, and other content. Participation in the Community is a privilege, not a right, and is subject to these Terms as well as our community guidelines.

• • You must be signed in with a verified Google account to post in the Community.
• • All posts and replies by new members are subject to moderator review before going live. Members who accumulate 100 or more points earn auto-publish status; AI content moderation still applies to all members.
• • You agree to keep all content family-friendly, respectful, and lawful. Content that is abusive, obscene, defamatory, discriminatory, or otherwise harmful is prohibited.
• • Spam, unsolicited advertising, and off-topic commercial promotion are not permitted.
• • We reserve the right to remove any post or reply, suspend any account, and revoke community access at our sole discretion and without notice.

8. User-Generated Content

"User-Generated Content" (UGC) means any text, images, links, or other material you submit to the Site, including community posts, replies, profile information, and comments.

• • You retain ownership of your UGC. By submitting it, you grant HillBougieLife a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and promote that content in connection with the Site.
• • You represent and warrant that your UGC does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, violate any applicable law, or contain false or misleading information.
• • HillBougieLife is not responsible for any UGC posted by users. We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of any user-submitted content.
• • We are not liable for any harm or damages resulting from your reliance on UGC posted by other members.
• • Comments posted via Facebook on our blog and recipe pages are additionally governed by Facebook's own Terms of Service and Community Standards.

8. Third-Party Services

The Site integrates third-party services including Google (authentication), Stripe (payments), Facebook / Meta (comments and social plugins), and Vimeo (video embeds). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content or practices of these third parties.

9. Disclaimers

The Site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Recipes, health tips, and lifestyle advice shared on the Site are for informational purposes only and are not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or financial advice. HillBougieLife is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Site or reliance on any content published here.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HillBougieLife and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Missouri.
